Therapy for Goal-Driven Black Women

For Black Women, there is a direct connection between high achievement and stress. The pressure to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders has been placed there by society a long time ago. Black Women hold other people’s stuff and their expectations, their own personal stuff and expectations, personal guilt and pressure, and do so in silence in the name of strength and resilience, while never letting them see you sweat.

In individual therapy, I can help you learn to handle your business, work, and other roles and responsibilities, while teaching you to ask for help and care for your mental health and wellness. The reality is, “Black does crack”—Marita Golden.

step one

Schedule a consultation call. Malaikah, our admin assistant will reach out to you with dates and times to schedule your 20-minute consultation call, so that we will see if we’re a good fit to work together. Following your call, we will schedule your first session/intake.

step two

Attend your intake. This will be a 60-minute session, so that we can learn more about what’s going on in your life right now and identify ways to help. We’ll create some goals and that will give us direction for therapy moving forward.

step three

It’s time to do the work. We’ll meet virtually on a weekly or biweekly basis for 50 minutes.
